POINTS of PRIDE: Mt. Pleasant

Mt. Pleasant has a philosophy - Whatever It Takes!  They have many programs that do whatever it takes to help their students actualize their potential.  One such program is the Family Consumer
Science class - the only school in Iowa certified in the American Culinary Arts School, being 1 out 131 in the United States.  When their culinary arts students compete against college students they hold their own.

Mt. Pleasant boasts a Robotic Team talented in problem-solving and has a strong foreign language program.  Their choir and band programs have close to 200 participants and are highly successful in their competitions.  Other extra-curricular opportunities include swim club at the rec center, interactive silver cord providing community service, video club, creative writing, show choir, math club, speech and drama.  With high quality art rooms, the fine arts department provides a well-rounded program of choices for students to grow their talents. With so many options Mt. Pleasant allows students to "do it all."
